The Fiery Furnace Threat

The king’s officials approach Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and give them a serious warning. They tell the three men that if they do not bow down and worship the golden statue as the king commanded, they will be punished. The punishment is severe—they will be thrown into a blazing furnace, a huge fire meant to burn up anyone who disobeys the king’s orders.
Despite this terrifying threat, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stand firm in their faith. They boldly reply that they do not need to defend themselves before the king. They declare that their God is powerful enough to save them from the fiery furnace. But then they say something even more incredible: even if God chooses not to rescue them, they still will not bow down to the statue or worship any other gods. Their faith is unshakable, and they are willing to face death rather than disobey their God.

Bible Verse: “We will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold.” (Daniel 3:18)
