Daniel Reads the Words

One night, King Belshazzar of Babylon held a great feast for his nobles, drinking and celebrating with gold and silver cups taken from God’s temple in Jerusalem. In the middle of the feast, a mysterious hand appeared and wrote strange words on the palace wall: “Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin.” No one could understand what they meant, so the frightened king called for Daniel, a wise man known for interpreting dreams and messages from God.
Daniel explained that the words were a warning from God. They meant that Belshazzar’s reign was coming to an end because he had been judged and found unworthy. That very night, as Daniel had predicted, the Babylonian kingdom fell, and Belshazzar was killed.
Bible Verse: “You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.” (Daniel 5:27)
