Daniel Prays Despite the Law

Even though Daniel knew about the new law that forbade praying to anyone except the king, he remained faithful to God. As he had always done, he went to his upstairs room, opened the windows facing Jerusalem, and prayed three times a day. The royal officials, who were jealous of Daniel’s position and influence, watched him closely. When they saw him praying, they quickly reported him to King Darius, hoping to have him punished.
