The King’s Decree

When King Nebuchadnezzar had a troubling dream, he called upon the wise men of Babylon to interpret it. However, he did not tell them what the dream was—he expected them to both reveal the dream and explain its meaning. When the wise men were unable to do so, the king became extremely angry. In his frustration and rage, he ordered that all the wise men in Babylon be put to death, which also put Daniel and his friends in danger, as they were considered part of this group.
