Chapter 19

As the months rolled on, my life settled into a rhythm that felt both new and comforting. I no longer dreaded mornings or dreaded the silence of my apartment at night. Instead, each day was an opportunity—a blank page waiting to be filled.

Daniel and I spent weekends exploring the city, discovering hidden cafes and quiet parks. Our conversations ranged from silly to serious, always leaving me feeling lighter.

One afternoon, as we sat watching children play in the park, Daniel turned to me.

“Aurora, have you ever thought about what you want in the long run? Not just work or relationships, but life?”

I paused, considering. “I want to be happy. I want to feel at peace with myself.”

He smiled softly. “I want that too, and I want to help you find it.”

The warmth in his words wrapped around me like a blanket. I realized then that this was what I’d been missing—someone who truly saw me.

Not as a possession or a title, but as a person.

And maybe, just maybe, I was ready to let myself be seen again.
