Chapter 20
The days felt lighter now. I was finally starting to breathe again, no longer weighed down by the past. My heart, once shattered, was slowly mending — piece by piece.
Work kept me busy, but it was a good kind of busy. Clients admired my designs, and my confidence grew with every project completed. For the first time, I was proud of what I had built on my own.
Daniel was always there, steady and patient. He never pushed, only encouraged me to believe in myself.
One evening, as we sat watching the city lights from my balcony, he turned to me and said, “Aurora, you’re not just surviving anymore. You’re thriving.”
His words hit me like a gentle wave, washing away the last of my doubts.
I smiled, feeling a surge of hope.
“Thanks to you,” I whispered.
He took my hand, holding it tightly.
“Together, we’ll make sure you never have to feel alone again.”
And for the first time in years, I truly believed him.
