When David was brought before King Saul, he stood confidently, even though he was just a young shepherd. Saul was unsure at first, doubting whether David could face the mighty Philistine warrior, Goliath. But David spoke with courage, sharing stories of how he had defended his flock from fierce lions and bears. He explained that it was not by his own strength but by God’s power that he had been able to overcome those dangers. With unwavering faith, David assured Saul, saying, “The same Lord who saved me from the claws of the lion and the paws of the bear will also save me from the hand of this Philistine.”
