Elijah Returns to Confront Ahab

Elijah, now filled with unwavering faith and confidence in God, makes his way back to King Ahab’s court. As soon as Ahab sees him, his eyes burn with anger, and he accuses Elijah of being the “troubler of Israel,” blaming him for the nation’s hardships. But Elijah stands firm, unshaken by the king’s hostility. He boldly declares that the real cause of Israel’s troubles is not him, but Ahab and his ancestors, who have turned away from God’s commandments and led the people to worship false gods, particularly Baal.
Determined to prove the power of the one true God, Elijah challenges Ahab and the prophets of Baal to a dramatic showdown on Mount Carmel. This will be a test to see whose God is real—the Lord of Israel or Baal. It is a moment that will not only challenge Ahab’s authority but also reveal the truth to the people of Israel.
Bible Verse:
“I have not made trouble for Israel, but you and your father’s family have. You have abandoned the Lord’s commands and have followed the Baals.” – 1 Kings 18:18
