The Challenge on Mount Carmel
On Mount Carmel, a great crowd gathers to witness a dramatic showdown between the prophet Elijah and the prophets of Baal. The air is filled with tension as the prophets of Baal begin their ritual, desperately trying to summon their god. They dance wildly, shout at the top of their lungs, and even cut themselves, hoping for a response. But despite their frantic efforts, there is only silence—no fire, no sign, nothing at all.
Then, Elijah steps forward with quiet confidence. He does not shout or perform any elaborate rituals. Instead, he simply prays to the one true God. At that moment, a blazing fire suddenly shoots down from the heavens, consuming the altar in an instant. The crowd is stunned as they witness undeniable proof of God’s power.
