The Serpent’s Temptation

The Serpent’s Temptation

One day, as Eve walked through the beautiful Garden of Eden, she encountered a serpent. But this was no ordinary snake—it was clever, cunning, and, to Eve’s surprise, it could speak. With a smooth and persuasive voice, the serpent began questioning her.

“Did God really say that you can’t eat from any tree in the garden?” it asked slyly.

Eve hesitated for a moment. She knew that God had told her and Adam that they could eat from any tree except one—the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. But the serpent continued speaking, planting seeds of doubt in her mind.

“You won’t die if you eat it,” the serpent assured her. “In fact, when you eat the fruit, your eyes will be opened, and you’ll gain wisdom like God Himself, knowing the difference between good and evil.”

Eve looked at the tree. The fruit was beautiful—so ripe and tempting. The idea of gaining wisdom was also appealing. She began to wonder: Could the serpent be right? Was God keeping something from her?

And so, in that moment of hesitation, the first seeds of temptation took root in her heart.
