The First Murder

Cain became overwhelmed with jealousy and envy. His anger started to grow stronger, and he couldn’t control his emotions. He invited his brother, Abel, to join him in a field. Once they were alone, in a fit of rage, Cain struck and killed Abel. Afterward, the Creator, knowing what had happened, called out to Cain, asking, “Where is your brother?” Cain, trying to avoid responsibility, answered, “Am I supposed to keep watch over my brother?” But the Creator already knew the truth.

Bible Verse: “The Lord said, ‘What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.’” — Genesis 4:10
