God had arranged for a huge fish to swallow Jonah, ensuring that he would not drown in the sea. Jonah remained inside the belly of this enormous creature for three days and three nights, completely alone in the pitch-black darkness. During this time, he had no idea what would happen to him. It must have been terrifying and uncomfortable, but it was also a time for him to reflect and pray.

As the Bible says:
“Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.” (Jonah 1:17)

This event was not just about Jonah’s survival—it was also part of God’s plan to teach him an important lesson about obedience, faith, and God’s mercy.
