The Coat of Many Colors

Joseph’s brothers looked at him with jealousy and resentment because their father, Jacob (also called Israel), loved him more than the rest of them. Jacob showed his special love for Joseph by giving him a beautiful, ornate robe, which made his brothers even more envious. They couldn’t hide their frustration and bitterness toward him.

Bible Verse:
Genesis 37:3-4 – “Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made an ornate robe for him. When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him and could not speak a kind word to him.”
