One evening, as King David walked on the roof of his palace, he saw a beautiful woman bathing. He was immediately captivated by her and wanted to know more about her. His curiosity led him to call one of his servants and ask, “Who is this woman?”

The servant hesitated before responding, knowing the weight of his answer. Finally, he said, “She is Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite.” Uriah was a devoted soldier in David’s army, a man of honor who was away at war, fighting for the kingdom. Despite knowing that Bathsheba was married, David couldn’t ignore his desire. He sent a messenger to bring her to the palace, setting in motion a series of events that would have lasting consequences.
