Joab, the commander of King David’s army, obeyed David’s instructions and placed Uriah at the most dangerous part of the battlefield, where the fighting was fiercest. As the enemy forces launched a strong attack, Uriah and the soldiers around him were overwhelmed. Despite his courage and determination, Uriah was unable to survive the battle and was killed.

After Uriah’s death, Joab sent a messenger back to David with news of the battle, including Uriah’s fate. However, David showed little emotion and dismissed the news with indifference, instructing the messenger not to be concerned about the loss.
