Samson’s Final Prayer and Victory

In the Philistine temple, Samson, who had been captured and was brought there as a prisoner, prayed to God for help. He said, “O Lord God, please remember me, and give me strength one more time. Help me to take revenge on the Philistines who have wronged me.” (Judges 16:28) Samson, who had once been known for his incredible strength, now used his final burst of power to push against the large supporting pillars of the temple. With all his might, he brought the temple down, causing it to collapse. In doing so, he destroyed the temple and defeated the Philistines, his enemies, in a dramatic and powerful act of vengeance.
