The Lesson of Sodom

Lot takes a moment to reflect on everything that has happened. He realizes that no matter how wealthy, powerful, or successful a place may appear, without righteousness—without goodness, justice, and moral integrity—it is bound to fail. He understands that prosperity built on corruption or wickedness cannot last.

With a heavy heart, Lot kneels in prayer. He asks for wisdom to make the right choices and guidance to follow the right path. He knows that true security and success come not from material wealth but from living in a way that honors what is right.
This lesson is echoed in Proverbs 14:34, which says:
“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.”
In other words, a society that values goodness and fairness will thrive, while one that embraces wrongdoing will ultimately suffer.
