Lot Tries to Warn the People
Lot tried to warn the people of Sodom about the evil and immoral things they were doing, urging them to change their ways and turn back to goodness. He believed that if they didn’t stop, they would face terrible consequences. But instead of listening to him, the people mocked Lot. They made fun of his message, laughing at him and calling him a fool. They didn’t take his warnings seriously at all. In fact, they even insulted him, saying, “Who are you to tell us what to do? You’re just a foreigner who came here, and now you’re acting like you’re in charge, trying to judge us!”
They didn’t respect Lot’s warnings or his authority, and they refused to change their ways, choosing to continue living in their sinful ways instead. This reflects how deeply they had fallen into their own pride and corruption, ignoring the chance to turn things around.
