The First Plague – Water Turns to Blood

Moses obeyed God’s command and stretched his staff over the Nile River. Immediately, the waters of the river turned into blood. The fish in the river died, and the water became foul, giving off a terrible stench. The people could no longer drink from it, and the entire land of Egypt suffered because of this plague.
However, Pharaoh’s magicians were able to replicate this sign using their own secret arts, making it seem less miraculous in Pharaoh’s eyes. Because of this, Pharaoh remained stubborn and refused to listen to Moses or let the Israelites go, just as God had foretold.

Bible Verse:
“And all the water of the Nile was changed into blood.” — Exodus 7:20
