Jethro’s Advice

Jethro’s Advice

Moses’ father-in-law, Jethro, came to visit him and noticed that Moses was overwhelmed by the enormous task of solving all the people’s problems by himself. From morning until evening, people would come to Moses with their disputes, seeking guidance and judgment. Jethro realized that this was too much for one person to handle and that it was wearing Moses out.

Seeing the strain on Moses, Jethro gave him wise advice. He suggested that Moses should not try to do everything alone but instead appoint trustworthy, capable, and honest men to serve as judges. These appointed leaders would handle the smaller cases, while Moses would only take on the most difficult or important matters. By doing this, Moses would be able to focus on his role as the people’s representative before God, bringing their concerns to Him in prayer and guiding them according to God’s will.
