God summoned Moses to the top of Mount Sinai to establish a special agreement, or covenant, with the people of Israel. This covenant was a promise from God that if they remained faithful, followed His laws, and obeyed His commands, they would be set apart from all other nations. They would become His treasured and chosen people, receiving His protection, guidance, and blessings.

Bible Verse:
“Now if you obey Me fully and keep My covenant, then out of all nations you will be My treasured possession.” — Exodus 19:5

In simple terms, God was offering Israel a unique relationship: if they remained loyal and followed His ways, they would hold a special place in His plan.
