As they journeyed across different lands, they eventually arrived at a wide, open plain in the land of Shinar. The area was beautiful and full of promise—the soil was rich and fertile, making it ideal for growing crops, and the rivers provided plenty of fresh water for drinking and farming. Everything about this place seemed perfect for settling down and building a new life. Instead of continuing their travels to other lands, as God had instructed, they decided to stay right there. In doing so, they took the first step toward a great mistake—choosing to follow their own desires instead of obeying God’s command.
