A City of Pride

The people rejoiced in their accomplishments, proud of all they had built and achieved. They looked around at their thriving city and felt confident in their own abilities, believing they no longer needed God to guide them. Instead of following His plan, they decided to create a kingdom where they were in complete control, making their own rules and shaping their own destiny.
Their city was filled with music, laughter, and celebration, and to an outsider, it seemed like a place of great happiness. But deep inside, their hearts had drifted far from the One who had given them life. They had replaced their trust in God with trust in themselves, forgetting that all they had was because of Him.

The Bible warns about this kind of pride and self-reliance. Proverbs 16:18 says, “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” Though they believed they could succeed without God, they did not realize that their separation from Him would eventually lead to their downfall.
