Job’s Wife’s Temptation

Job was suffering terribly, covered in painful sores and feeling the weight of his immense losses—his children, his wealth, and his health. His wife, seeing how much he was suffering, could not bear to watch him in such misery. In her frustration and despair, she said to him, “Why don’t you just curse God and give up? Just end this suffering and die!”

But Job, despite his unbearable pain, remained faithful. He responded to her with wisdom and patience, saying, “Should we only accept the good things from God and not the hardships? If we trust Him in times of blessing, shouldn’t we also trust Him in times of suffering?”

Even though Job was in agony, he refused to speak against God or lose his faith. The Bible tells us:

“In all this, Job did not sin with his lips.” (Job 2:10)

This means that even in his suffering, Job did not complain against God or say anything wrong. He remained steadfast, showing a deep trust in God’s plan, even when he didn’t understand it.
