Ava never imagined her quiet life would be turned upside down by a single look from the most powerful Alpha in the pack. Ian was strong, feared, and completely out of her reach. She was just an ordinary omega, trying to stay invisible—but fate had other plans. From the moment their eyes met, something deep and unexplainable pulled them together, even though everything around them screamed they didn’t belong.
But danger was never far behind. Secrets, betrayal, and a rising threat from rogue wolves forced Ava and Ian into a fight not just for survival, but for love, loyalty, and leadership. As their bond grew stronger, so did the enemies in the shadows. Would their connection be enough to protect their pack—or would it all come crashing down? The only way to find out… is to follow them into the storm.
Chapter 1

Kaelyn stood outside the closed bedroom door, her knuckles hovering mid-air, ready to knock—but then she heard it.
A woman’s voice, soft and seductive, whispered from inside. “Mmm… Landen…”
Kaelyn froze, the sound hitting her like ice down her spine. Her hand dropped, trembling, as the truth settled in her stomach like a stone. Her husband. Inside. With someone else.
It didn’t make sense. In all their years of marriage, Landen had never once touched her. He’d told her it was a medical condition—that he couldn’t be intimate. She had accepted it, believed it, never questioned him. But the deep, unmistakable groan that followed erased all her doubts. That was definitely his voice.
She leaned against the wall, trying to steady her legs. Tears stung her eyes as she pressed a hand over her mouth, muffling the cry that threatened to escape. For two years, she had poured everything into caring for him. After his accident left him in a coma, she had nursed him around the clock. Everyone else had given up on him, but she hadn’t. She had even used her hidden medical skills—ones she kept secret from the world—to heal him when no one else could.
When he woke up, he had held her hand and promised to love her, to marry her, to never leave her side.
And she had believed him.
Now, hearing him in bed with someone else—on their wedding anniversary, no less—Kaelyn felt something inside her shatter.
She was about to walk away when she heard the woman speak again. “Landen, today’s your anniversary with Kaelyn. Shouldn’t you be with her instead of here?”
Landen’s voice was low and comforting—but his words were sharp and cruel. “Don’t worry, Claire. My heart only belongs to you. Kaelyn? She’s just filling in for now. I’ve never even touched her.”
Kaelyn couldn’t take it anymore. Her pain boiled over. She pushed the door open with a loud bang, the sound silencing everything inside.
Landen sprang up, quickly covering himself and the woman with a coat. His face twisted with annoyance rather than guilt. “What are you doing here? I told you to stay at the mansion.”
Kaelyn blinked through her tears, her heart thudding painfully in her chest. “If I hadn’t come, how long would you have kept lying to me?”
He didn’t answer. The silence between them was louder than any words.
The woman, who was trying to cover herself, looked familiar. Kaelyn’s eyes narrowed. Claire Hewitt. Landen’s childhood friend. She’d seen her picture on his desk once—back when they first married. He had removed it later, and Kaelyn had assumed he’d moved on.
What a fool she’d been.
Claire tried to step in. “Don’t blame Landen. It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have—”
Kaelyn ignored her, her gaze locked on Landen. “You could’ve just told me you didn’t want to be with me anymore. Why do this? Why today?”
Landen snorted, shrugging. “Fine. You want the truth? I want a divorce. I should’ve married Claire from the start.”
The words stabbed into her, but Kaelyn didn’t flinch. She stared back at him, her voice cool and steady. “Alright. Let’s divorce. But I want half of everything. I’m not walking away empty-handed.”
His face twisted in disbelief. Claire looked like she’d just swallowed a lemon. “Kaelyn, isn’t that unfair?” she said sweetly, pretending to care. “Landen built the family business. You’ve been enjoying the comforts of the Barnett family. Don’t turn everyone against you with such greed.”
Kaelyn’s smile was sharp. “You have no right to talk about fairness. You’re a mistress. And I’m not asking. I’m telling. If this goes public, your reputations won’t survive the storm.”
The room fell silent. Neither of them had anything to say. Kaelyn didn’t wait. She turned and walked out, the cool night air hitting her like a breath of freedom.
Outside, she pulled out her phone. Her fingers hovered for a moment, then she tapped a number she hadn’t called in years.
The voice that answered was warm and excited. “Kaelyn? Is it really you?”
“It’s me,” she said calmly. “I’m outside Landen’s private villa. Can you pick me up?”
“Absolutely. I’ll be there right away.”
Ten minutes later, the street filled with the hum of luxury cars. The lead car stopped, and a man stepped out. As he approached, Kaelyn met his gaze—and saw concern flash in his eyes.
“Kaelyn,” Sebastian Gill said, coming closer. “What happened? Why are you crying?”
He stared at the tears on her cheeks like he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. She had always been the strong one. Always composed. Always in control.
But Kaelyn wiped her face, her expression calm again. “It’s nothing. I’ve just decided to divorce that scumbag.”
Sebastian blinked, stunned. Then a slow grin spread across his face, followed by a laugh that came straight from the heart. “Finally! You’ve seen the light. Welcome back to being yourself, Kaelyn.”
And just like that, the first step toward reclaiming her life had begun.
