Event Cancellation & Refund Policy
Effective 10 October 2026 · Buyer refunds, host obligations and payment-provider processing.
1. Full-refund circumstances
A full refund of the buyer’s total mandatory checkout payment should ordinarily be provided when the Host cancels or does not deliver the event, the event is confirmed fraudulent, admission is refused despite a valid ticket and compliance with published conditions, a material schedule/venue/advertised-experience change is unacceptable to the buyer, or a technical error causes an incorrect or duplicated payment. Each claim is assessed on its evidence and applicable law.
2. Voluntary buyer cancellation
Buyers may request cancellation of advance bookings. Reasonable and clearly disclosed cancellation charges may apply where Nigerian law permits. We consider notice, the ability to resell the place, actual unrecoverable costs and industry practice. A blanket “non-refundable payment fee” does not override statutory consumer rights. No cancellation charge may be imposed where the law prohibits one, including qualifying death or hospitalisation under FCCPA Section 120.
3. What is refunded and who pays processing costs
Where a full refund is due because of Host cancellation, fraud or non-delivery, the buyer receives the full amount paid including mandatory booking charges. Gosful reverses its retained platform commission where applicable and the Host contractually bears payment-processing fees attributable to that Host-caused refund, subject to law. The payment provider may retain the original processing fee even when the buyer receives a full refund. The responsible party’s allocation does not guarantee immediate recovery from an unresponsive Host.
4. Submit and track a request
Submit a request from the ticket order or the Support page, with a brief reason and supporting evidence if available. Ordinary requests are shared with the primary Host. The Host should acknowledge within two business days. If there is no response or the decision is disputed, Gosful may review the case and take appropriate action. Confirmed chargebacks are handled urgently under payment-provider deadlines.
5. Refund method and status
Approved paid-ticket refunds are initiated through Paystack to the original payment method where supported. A refund is not complete merely because someone clicked Approve: funds must be processed and confirmed by the provider. Timing depends on the method and receiving bank. Where insufficient pending merchant funds remain, the refund may require additional funding or provider-assisted resolution.
6. Protecting buyers and hosts
We may request receipts, communications and attendance records; pause new paid sales where a substantial fraud risk exists; and seek documented recovery from a liable Host. A risk flag or refund request alone does not establish fraud. We provide a reasonable opportunity to challenge incorrect claims while complying with bank-dispute and consumer deadlines.
7. Legal protection and support
This policy applies to paid tickets purchased through Gosful. Free RSVPs can ordinarily be cancelled without a monetary charge. Applicable Nigerian consumer rights prevail over conflicting event-specific rules. Questions and unresolved complaints can be sent through Gosful Support.
